Chris Joslin Tre Flip El Toro November Thrasher Magazine Cover

Chris Joslin has never shied away from the heaviest spots in skateboarding, and this week he went back to one of the most infamous of them all: the El Toro High School 21-stair.

Joslin first tried to tre flip the legendary set back in 2023. He came heartbreakingly close, but fate stepped in when his truck snapped mid-session, shutting things down before he could ride away. That near-miss became part of skateboarding lore, fueling years of speculation about whether he’d ever return to settle the score.

Fast forward to now: surrounded by friends, family, and a crew of heavy hitters, Joslin rolled back into El Toro. This time, there would be no interruptions. With Atiba Jefferson behind the fisheye lens, he put down the iconic trick in what someone close to the session claimed was just five tries.

The result? Pure history. Not only is the tre flip one of the most technically demanding tricks you could throw down a set of that size, but doing it at El Toro cements Joslin even further as one of the gnarliest to ever step on a skateboard.

The photo Atiba captured already feels like it belongs on the walls of skate shops and magazines everywhere — a frozen moment of a skater finally conquering the mountain he set out to climb years ago.

Joslin’s victory at El Toro isn’t just another clip. It’s a reminder of persistence, fearlessness, and the kind of skateboarding that pushes the culture forward.
