April Skateboards and Spitfire Wheels have teamed up for a six-wheel limited edition collection, and it's exactly the kind of collab that makes sense the second you see it. April's design sensibility meets Spitfire's Formula Four urethane — a formula that's been the benchmark for speed and slide for over a decade — across two pro models, a radial shape, and a soft wheel for the transition riders. Here's what's in the drop.
Shane O'Neill Formula Four Classics
Two sizes of Shane O'Neill's pro model Classic shape are part of this release, built in the Formula Four 99D compound that Spitfire riders have relied on for tech street skating for years. The Classic shape is a proven all-rounder — full and round enough for stability on ledges and rails, without sacrificing the pop and control Shane's skating is known for. If you've been waiting to restock your Shane O'Neills, this is the release to grab them in.
Yuto Horigome Conical Full Wheels — Ninja Graphic
The centerpiece of the collection is the Yuto Horigome pro model, dropping in three colorways on the Conical Full shape. Conical Fulls give you a slightly tapered contact patch for smoother slides while keeping the full wheel's stability — a shape Yuto has leaned on through his rise to the top of technical street skating.
The graphic on these is a standout: a ninja design featuring two gold medals, a nod to Yuto's back-to-back Olympic golds in skateboarding. It's a graphic that actually means something — not just a logo swap, but a wheel that tells you exactly who's on it and what he's accomplished.
Formula Four Radials — 2 Colorways
Rounding out the street-focused side of the release, the Radial shape returns in two colors. Radials split the difference between Classics and Conicals — a rounder profile that's a favorite for skaters who want a slightly different slide feel without stepping away from Formula Four's core performance.
Sapphire 90D — Clear Soft Wheel
The one non-street wheel in the pack is the clear Sapphire, cast in a 90D soft urethane. At 90D, this is built for grip over slide — think transition, cruising, and rough terrain where a harder street wheel would chatter and skip out. The clear urethane gives it a distinct look on the deck, and the softer compound means a noticeably smoother, quieter ride.
Why Formula Four Still Matters
Formula Four has been Spitfire's flagship urethane formula since the early 2010s, engineered to hold its slide speed longer than standard urethane as the wheel wears down. That's the whole pitch with this collection: six wheels, four shapes, one formula that's already proven itself on street courses and Olympic stages alike.
