Music and Skateboarding have been intertwined since the surf-rock days in the 70's, with music culture influencing skate culture and vice-versa. These limited deck series were released in collaboration with various skateboarding brands including Powell Peralta, Zero, Girl, Zorlac, and many more.
THE MISFITS:
In 1986, a thrasher ad popped up promoting the "deadliest thing on wheels", this ad was from the brand Plan 9 (The misfits record label at the time). This ad with the accompanying boards have only been released one time, featuring designs from the artist known as Pushead. The skateboard decks were of mediocre quality but they are still very sought after by collectors.
The Misfits has done a couple collaborations with Zero Skateboards, featuring artwork from the bands album covers and art by Pushead.
Zero was a perfect brand for music collaborations as Zero is well known for its love of music. These misfits boards are rare but very sought after by fans of Zero and the band itself.
These Zero Boards sold out within the hour when we had them in store, so if you see another one in the future make sure you don't sleep on these decks.
