The Vans Rowley Rapidweld Pro Shoes
20 years ago Rowley quit Airwalk to go ride for Vans, taking a considerable paycut in exchange for a lot more design control. The shoe he designed was out of place in a time of bulky shoes with beefy soles. No one, not even the folks at Vans thought it would sell, but Rowley stuck to his guns and the shoe became a cult classic.
This shoe celebrates Geoff Rowley’s 20th anniversary with Vans, with this reissue
of his classic shoe, but featuring modern technology. It's sure to be a fan favorite.
The Rowley Pro features updated innovations:
-The Wafflecup outsole construction, the first-of-its-kind outsole unit to offer
skateboarders the best of both worlds: with the boardfeel of a Vulc shoe and
the heel support of a cupsole.
-Made with suede upper and Vans RapidWeld detailing around the toe
-RapidWeld is a stitchless construction for improved fit, feel, and seamless
durability.
-It eliminates bulk with advanced upper panel welding, utilizing a thin, heat-
fused film between panels and replacing the need for conventional stitching.
The result is a shoe which is highly durable, flexible, and lighter than
traditional construction.
-Under the suede in the toe is DURACAP reinforcement rubber underlays in
high wear areas
-A considerably slimmer tongue and refined ankle padding further reduce
visual and physical bulk.
-The shoe is built with Rowley’s favorite version of the Ultracush HD
sockliner, providing Vans’ highest level of impact cushioning.
-Vans original waffle outsoles made of a rubber that offers grip and support.
