This season’s Vans x Krooked partnership brings a collection of shoes and clothing designed by Natas Kaupas for Ray Barbee. All the footwear is the Vans Skate Classics designed footwear, which is designed specifically for skateboarding featuring higher grade materials, upgraded insoles, and Duracap (rubber boating under the canvas or suede in skateboarding’s high wear areas).

Natas Kaupas and Ray Barbee are street skateboarding pioneers and long time friends, so this collection definitely has a nice nostalgic feel to it, a collaboration between two friends who happen to be absolute legends in the game.

The Vans x Krooked pack features 3 shoes for Ray Barbee: A Vans Skate Sk8-Hi Shoe, Vans Skate Slip On Shoe, and a Vans Skate Old Skool Shoe. All the artwork on these shoes is done by street skateboarding pioneer Natas Kaupas. If you look closely at the designs they’re Natas’ spin on both skaters retro graphics. They feature a red panther looking person (based off the SMA Natas Panther), and a figure in a ball cap (based off the Ray Barbee Ragdoll graphic).
